Sales Idea

Here’s an oldie but a goodie!  The following script can be used at a seminar to convince clients or prospects to start investing, invest more, or stop trying to time the market.

Monopoly Script:

Advisor:  Ladies and gentlemen, can anyone tell me what this is?  (Holds up a Monopoly game.)

Prospect:  It’s a Monopoly game!

Advisor:  That’s right!  How many of you have played Monopoly before?  (Raise hands.)  Can anyone tell me what you get when you pass “Go”?

Prospect:  $200! 

Advisor:  Correct!  And what does that $200 represent?

Prospect:  Your salary?

Advisor:  That’s right!  (Hands Monopoly game to audience member.)  Ladies and gentlemen, have you or anyone you know ever won a game of Monopoly by simply going around the board over and over again and collecting your salary?  Of course not!  What do you need to do?  (Hands raise…”buy properties”, “build hotels”…etc.)  You need to INVEST, right?   Ladies and gentlemen, in order to retire, send your kids to college, buy your dream home…even win a game of Monopoly, you need to invest and the best time to start is right now!

Try a creative approach to prospecting!

A broker in Schaumberg, IL searched his Prospects of Wealth database for millionaires and multi-millionaires with children under 10 in his area. Along with a seminar invitation he sent out information on a coloring contest with prizes to be distributed at the seminar. Only a few days after sending off the mailings he received over 100 responses!!!
