Here’s a Simple Idea That’s Easy to Implement
Start by contacting some of the larger charities and foundations in your local area. Ask to meet with executive officers or individuals in charge of fund raising. Take them to lunch and pick their brains. Ask probing questions; how is their organization fairing under current market conditions? Do they have any upcoming plans for major fund-raisers, etc? Establish a friendly, cooperative relationship.
Then approach your contact with a mutually beneficial fundraising idea. Joint venture an investment seminar, estate planning or similar type of event. The range of fundraising ideas is limited only by your imagination. Remember that these organizations are not restricted by the “do-not-call” regulations. So all of those people you’ve been wanting to call but can’t, suddenly become available to you.
Use our Prospects of Wealth and/or Tax-Exempt Opportunities databases to locate high-net-worth individuals and recognized charities. The charities might split some of the costs with you. This is an opportunity to establish yourself as an expert, attract new clients and develop relationships with well-known organizations that you can work with for years to come.
Any professional who can help a charity regain their donation base will have a life-long client and referral source!
